March Madness

March hasn't even arrived yet, but the tension between my hubby and I has. He goes to Vegas every March to watch a bunch of basketball games with his friends. We argue about him going every year, but this year was the worst. I really want to go to New York as a family this year to  my best friend's wedding reception. Jyoti (hubby's sis) is also having a little wedding ceremony in Vegas this year and I really don't think we could afford 3 trips in one year! So now my husband is doing what I usually do best, the silent treatment. I wanted to go to Napa to have lunch Saturday, but we barely talked. If it wasn't for little Aamira, we probably wouldn't have exchanged any words with each other! arghhh

My two loves
I can't wait for this whole March Madness thing to be over so we could enjoy the sun together with our baby. I ended up going to my mom's house later on that Saturday, Aamira and I had such a blast hanging out with my family. My sister's made tacos and tostadas (mmm), and Bhinda came over with his brother and sister. We all just ended up talking and having a blast...we discussed toilet bowls with the water squirt option for quite a while (haha). Funny how talking about poop makes you laugh at any age.
Maci Time

Sunday was such a nice day, Aamira had a blast watching her cousins play in the backyard. I bet she can't wait to start running around with them.
My little beast

I just realized I never blogged about my 3 day weekend last weekend! We took Bhinda out to Silk Road in Walnut Creek for his birthday, and had cupcakes afterwards.Aamira was trying to eat everything, poor baby just watches us eat all day long and gets stuck with a bottle most of the day.
Yum Yums
After our trip to Walnut Creek we went to visit Aman's uncle and Aunt in Castro Valley. I was craving Starbucks on my way there, but luckily his Aunt made me some really yummy cha. I love visiting them, we always have a good conversation, good food, and a bag full of fruit to take home from their garden.
Crazy little bean @ her other Dadda and Dadi's house
Can you believe our Saturday still had two more stops? We stopped by to see Aman's Grandpa, and then went to my new FAVORITE grocery store, Mi Pueblo. Going grocery shopping is one of my favorite things to do, it's an automatic stress reliever. All I think about is all of the different yummy things I can make with all the different ingredients. This store was extremely clean, and the marinated chicken breast is delicious. We ended up making tacos on Sunday, they were so good (the 49er's are going to the Super Bowl....not that I care for football)!
Amazing variety of Salsa

Happy Family at the grocery store.

I spent the night at my mom's that Sunday night and we ended up going to lunch with Angela, Sim, Sukhman, and baby at Spice in Vacaville on Monday. What an action packed weekend you say? Never a dull moment with us crazy cats. Until next time!!

About to go to Spice

Thanks for lunch Anj Maci :)

Another time at Spice with the Roomies...love them.

New Beginnings

What an action packed weekend we had this weekend. My little booboos had a fever on Thursday so I didn't end up going to work on Friday  (no fun having a sick baby). Just when you think you are getting the hang of things, some new child developmental thing wacks you in the face (arghh)!  I noticed that she has a new cry, it hurts my insides so bad hearing her cry like that.
Not feeling well :(

My hubby got home around 8:00pm on Friday and then I was off to my Parent's house to help Anu set up for the Rokh (pre-engagement) on Saturday. Both of us were starving and stopped by In-N-Out after our Target trip at 9:00pm. I came back Saturday morning to do some last minute cleaning before going home and getting ready for the event. I was so glad that little Aamira was feeling a little better (she still has a runny nose).

We were in the middle of setting up the appetizers in the garage when the guests arrived, my family is always so last minute. It was really nice meeting Bhinda's close family, I just wished we had more space for everyone to sit.

Bhinda and little Aamira (thanks Kirin Maci for the outfit).
Everyone seemed a little tense at first, but eventually everyone had a great time. I am sure that Anu and Bhinda were nervous the entire time since all 'eyes' were always on them (minus those watching the 49ers game).
My parent's with the nervous couple!

Aman's fam bam, plus Suhanna who was being shy as usual!

My sister Simi and I ended up staying at my mom's house that night. Boy oh boy did it feel AMAZING finally relaxing at my mom's house. I'm so glad that the big house renovation is over! Sunday was my mom's birthday, so we all just hung out and cleaned up the house. I even squeezed in a nap with little Aamira and Anu haha. Sunday was also Aamira's five month birthday! I cut an orange, apple, and pear for the fam to eat and my mom ended up letting Aamira lick an apple slice for the first time.
Sukhman actually cutting his own fruit!! hehe

She then let her try an orange, Aamira loved it! She kept staring at the fruit plate and making noises! She's already a little foodie like her mommy. I love my baby, can't wait to have her try new things!
Loving the apple

Wanting more orange!

Crazy Weekends

My lil' sis Anu is getting engaged this weekend and our house is a complete mess! We are having a pre-engagement ceremony at my parent's house on Saturday, and my folks decided that they wanted to squeeze in some house renovating...super BAD idea.
In the midst of the mess, my brother is still concerned about throwing these away.

Everyone has been stressing to get the house cleaned before the big event, which means less time with the baby for me. I am super excited to meet her soon to be fiance's family, but I can't wait for everything to be over so I can finally spend a relaxing day at my mommys (no offense Bhinda :) ).
Lazy day at Moms
This past weekend I just hung out at my sister Simi's house, I loved it. All we did was eat, drink cha, and watch the kids go wild.
Suhanna and Saharra kept taking Aamira's socks off!
I ended up leaving their house at midnight on Friday and Saturday, poor Aamira was probably annoyed since her sleep was being disturbed.
Saharra throwing a fit, probably wanted something evil (mama's "shoe"=phone?) :)

I should be heading over to my mom's after work today to help clean up some more. I would love to take Aamira with me, but there is SO much dust everywhere that it even bothers my throat! I will make sure to post pics of this weekend. I can't wait to eat the Indian food my mom makes, and the burritos Anu is going to order. Tata for now!!! :)

Tears of Joy

I am back to work this week after about a two week holiday, feels yucky! I only worked one day last week (Thursday) since my mom in law/baby-sitter was sick. My hubby was home with Aamira all day Thursday (his first time watching her ALL day) and I was super jealous. My husband was feeding her when I walked in the room and she stopped drinking her milk to look at me and smile. I was putting my stuff away, and she kept moving her neck to follow me as I moved around the room. My hubby told me that I should feed her (I think he was 'jelly'), so he took the bottle out of her mouth. The second he took the bottle out of her mouth she waved her hands in excitement, when I did pick her up she made soooo many cute noises!!!! I can't believe she was so excited to see me....I couldn't help but to cry.
After 'dudu' face

It's so hard to come to work in the mornings leaving her all warm and cuddly in the bed. I really don't know how my mom was able to leave all four of us for so many years. I just pray that it gets easier with time. All I want to do when I get home is just hang out with her without anyone else distracting me or her.
Copying my 4 month old!

My favorite part of the days is just being with her and Aman (hubby), and playing with her while we both give her many kisses! I am usually the one giving her most of the kisses while Aman plays video games/watches basketball/does random stuff online. 0:).
I will be super busy with family stuff this week so I can't wait to hang out with this little sunshine this weekend!

Shots, Shots, Shots

Little Aamira just got her 4 month shots last Thursday...boy oh boy does the phrase "shots, shots, shots" mean something totally different as as mommy :). Don't get the wrong idea, I tried alcohol for the first time in July of 2011 (during a trip to Cancun), a few months later I was Preggers and I could drink no more! Anyways, I am so glad that my baby took her shots like a Bains! :) She cried for about 40 seconds and was fine until about 10:30pm when she cried for a few minutes before falling asleep. I feel like the older she gets, the harder it becomes for me to see her in pain. It's a strange feeling meeting a newborn baby as a mommy and having no real relationship with "it." In the first few months you feel like a zombie, waking up at odd hours of the night, feeding "it," changing "it," and burping "it." I am sure not all new mother's feel this way, but I surely did.Once little Aamira developed a little personality, a relationship was born. I grew attached to "her," loved "her," and wanted to play with "her," versus just making "it" fall asleep. :)
She was actually having a blast before she got her shots.

Missing my little baby on my first day back at work after the Holidays...:(
Nap Time!
